Update to 1.14!


1.14.0

Another new NPC Template, the Prototype! A.K.A. what’s an NPC Class before it becomes an NPC class? Otherwise, a handful of balance tweaks and clarifications.

NPC Classes

Anchor

Gravity Cannon

Reduce complexity of Anchor’s Gravity Cannon by focusing solely upon Knockback and changing the on-collision effect to occur without a save.

  • Add Knockback 3 tag.
  • Change effect to:

    If this weapon’s KNOCKBACK causes a target to collide with an obstruction or mech, they stop moving and become IMPAIRED until the end of their next turn.

Newtonian Amplifier

Newtonian Amplifier is hard to use as a Full Action while maintaining Lodestone; the Line 8 gave the Anchor some reach, but doesn’t really synergize with its desire to keep things away. These changes make the feature easier to use and transform it into a “punishment” tool.

  • Change from Full Action to Quick Action.
  • Change from Line 8 to Burst 2.
  • Change to only affect hostile characters.

Magnetic Reversal

Magnetic Reversal has slight anti-synergy with Lodestone; all allies in Lodestone will be unlikely to benefit from Magnetic Reversal. Changing this to an anti-melee feature broadens the Anchor’s defensive profile, similar to how Omninet Grounding covers Tech attacks.

  • Change trigger from ranged attack to melee attack.

Capacitor

Thunderfall (Ultra)

  • Change effect to be a standalone action independent of the Marathon Arquebus. Otherwise affects the same area at the same timing.
  • Change from Recharge 6+ to Limited 1.
  • Add Arcing tag.
  • Change from Free Action to Full Action.

Hatchet

Cleaving Retrieval

  • Clarify that the Hatchet is retrieving its own weapons (not anyone else’s).

Return to Sender

  • Rework so that the Hatchet isn’t copying the action, but instead changing the targets of the action.

Hurricane of Steel (Ultra)

  • Allow this feature’s damage to count as damage from Cleaving Retrieval (mostly important for Plasma Knife’s effect).

Kensei

Kensei Stats

  • Increase Speed from 4 to 5 at all tiers.

Mach Parry

  • Change trigger from “any attack from a hostile character” to “any weapon attack”.

Knight

Champion’s Greatsword

  • Remove Knockback 2 tag. (Moved to Sweeping Blows.)
  • LCP Bugfix: Reduce the base attack bonus from +2/4/6 to the correct value of +1/2/3.

Hero’s Banner

  • Reduce HP from 15/20/25 to 12/15/18.

Sweeping Blows

  • Additionally grant Knockback 2 to Champion’s Greatsword.

Mesmerist

NARCISSUS Override

  • Change from restricting line of sight to restricting targeting to include the Mesmerist.

Occultist

Reap the Chaff

  • Restrict allied condition clear to only clear Impaired and Lock On (but both may be cleared at once).

Prism

Diffraction Beam

  • Change from restricting line of sight to restricting targeting to include the Prism.

OMNIGLASS Barrier

  • Reduce number of barriers deployed from two to one.
  • Change HP from 10/15/20 to 15 at all tiers.

Torrent

Storm Surge

  • Change so that only smaller obstructions are ignored.

Primordial (Veteran)

  • LCP Bugfix: Add override to make the Torrent Size 3 when it gains this feature.

Vulture

“Carcass” Bunker

  • Renamed to ““Carcass” Reclamation Bunker” (no LCP ID change, not breaking).
  • Clarify that the area is Burst 2, 4 spaces high.

Anomaly

Anomaly Systems and Traits

  • Renamed to “Anomaly Features” (no ID change, non-breaking).

Spatial Rend

  • Change effect to inflict Shredded and Impaired on a failed Engineering save while teleporting.

Brigand

Brigand Systems and Traits

  • Renamed to “Brigand Features” (no ID change, non-breaking).

Shredding Claws

  • New feature! Variant of Prying Claws that exposes the pilot(s) or crew of a mech, ship, or vehicle.

Prototype

  • New template! High tech, bleeding edge template using tech yet to be encountered by Union.
